A rare moment of thanks.

We would just like to thank the makers of NYC for electing (mostly. Fuck you, Pataki) not to build a stadium on the West Side of an overcrowded, 22-square-mile island. We also would like to thank the makers of the calendar for scheduling the vote on the same day that the International Olympic Committee publicly reviewed each contending city's proposal. New York's proposal included the stadium as its centerpiece, meaning, Vive la Paris! Today, we are proud to be New Yorkers and proud of everyone who voted not to build the stadium and, in effect, not to take the Olympic hosting with anything remotely approaching seriousness.

Good work!
