For neatness he deserves a nod.

Just to reinforce that NB is, in fact, gay, and definitely not in the "happy" sense, here are some photos of the production of Sweeney Todd that will reach Broadway later this year. This production, which premiered at the Watermill Theatre in England, casts nine actors as both characters and musicians. The actors playing Joanna and Anthony, for instance, also play cellos. Now, usually this sets off all sorts of gay alarms, especially when it concerns one of the most exquistely brilliant and operatic musicals ever written, originally performed by a full orchestra and a cast of approximately 30 people. However, one look at the photos restored all kinds of hope for this import. The only problem is the Roundabout Theatre is producing it, so anything interesting and edgy about the show is susceptible to deletion.

Enjoy the photos. And, yes, the person playing Mrs. Lovett is a woman, poor thing, poor thing. And, yes yes, if you weren't gay before you began reading this, you probably are completely flaming now.
